Bluetooth Access

DataTalk IPC provides Bluetooth access after a reboot or power cycle. This allows you to connect to the device and reach the Manager or HMI interface even without an Ethernet or WiFi connection.

How it works

Bluetooth connectivity is available for approximately 3 minutes after powering on the device. Use this window to connect and configure the device. Once connected, the session stays active.

Connecting from a phone

1. Power on (or reboot) the device.
2. On your phone, open Bluetooth settings and scan for devices.
3. Select DataTalk IPC and pair.
4. Disable all internet access (Wi-Fi and LTE) on your phone before connecting — this is required so your phone routes traffic through the Bluetooth connection.
5. The device is then reachable at:
   • Manager — 172.16.44.1:34023
   • HMI — 172.16.44.1:80

Connecting from a laptop (Windows)

The process is the same as on a phone, with one additional step to obtain an IP address:

1. Pair with DataTalk IPC in Windows Bluetooth settings.
2. Open Bluetooth & devices → find the paired device → click Connect using → select Access point (or enable PAN network under the Bluetooth device).
3. Windows will obtain an IP address via the Bluetooth PAN connection.
4. The device is then reachable at 172.16.44.1 on port 34023 (Manager) or port 80 (HMI).
